BIO

It was a realization that struck him during a university lecture — Tom Mac was four years into a degree he didn’t love, staring down a future he didn’t want. He wasn’t about to settle for ‘second best’, but the path to authenticity was anything but straightforward.

After a debut album release in 2010, Tom was persuaded to ditch his country roots in favour of a pop sound. The transformation cost him everything.

"After 2-3 years of losing all momentum and being so disheartened by the complete brand transformation I gave up releasing music."

Tom turned his passion toward building a music agency, but the songs never stopped brewing. During the pandemic, he ventured into the Northern Territory to learn digeridoo from its source and rediscovered his spirit.

With over half a million streams and editorial playlisting across Spotify and Apple Music and regular rotation on Kix Country, Tom’s authentic approach is connecting. He’s graced stages like the Gympie Muster and Baralaba Bash and supported iconic acts Eskimo Joe and Kim Churchill.

Tom’s new music marks a powerful new era; a return to the kind of music he was always meant to make. He’s the only artist you’ll hear fusing the didgeridoo with Coastal Country – crafting a sound that feels like the Australian landscape itself.
